Physical Description

DEMOLISHED - RECOMMENDED FOR DELETION 2010

History

In 1964, a permit was issued for a brick and asbestos garage valued at £350. Two years later, a brick and asbestos wood and tool shed valued at £300 was built. A tax map dated 1984 showing the footprint of the buildings on the site records two sheds down the side of the house, with the a house placed diagonally on the lot facing the corner of Stevens Street and Minilya Avenue. An entry for the ‘garages’ was made in the City of Fremantle’s Heritage Database at some stage in the 1990s. The garages were listed as being Category 3, but of limited significance and were not adopted into the Municipal Heritage Inventory. At some later stage, the demolition of the sheds was supported. In 2006, there is a new house on the lot with no evidence of the original house or sheds.
