The place demonstrates associations with pioneering families.
Only a chimney remains on the site where the Krakouer brothers ran their Eticup store. A peppercorn tree nearby is also a remnant of the Eticup townsite.
The Krakouer brothers, Rudolph and David came to Eticup around 1886 and built their store. Nearby was the Eticup Inn, ran by Patrick Garrity and on the opposite side of the road was John Garrity's store. The Krakouer moved their busines to Broome Hill in 1889, when the great Southern Railway was opened. The store at Eticup fell into disrepair.
