Statement of Significance

Education was an important issue for the settlers in the developing communities, as demonstrated by the community involvement, and the local focus. The centralisation of the system was the demise of the small community schools.

Physical Description

Timber framed and clad with corrugated iron on the walls and roof. The interior was lined with mini custom orb (ripple sheet).

History

In 1918 the government tendered for the removal of the Warding school to be relocated at Wamenusking. The school was located on Green's block, and opened with 40 pupils. In 1943 the school closed, having been open continuously , except for 1 year. In 1993 the school was demolished.
