Statement of Significance

Historic: children from surrounding properties such as "Fairview" and "Oakfarm" attended this school. The school was one of the last to close, being a fair distance from Broomehill or Kojonup the children relied on this school for their education. This school continued unitl 1945 when children were transported by bus.

Physical Description

The Oaklands Schoolcis situated on the Broomehill/Kojonup Road near G Holley's property "Fairvie". The school room is stil standing and was made of mud brick. An ususal feature of the building is it's double fireplace, which would have serviced two rooms. The dividing wall has long since gone and the fireplaces are set on an angle back to back.
