(Fremantle Prison) This house was built as 'being in every respect similar to that erected for the Chaplain (now occupied as offices) (i.e. No. 10.) In 1857 the house was stuccoed. It is 2 storied and has a cellar. In the 1870s (or 1880s) it became the resident Magistrate's house which it remained until the end of the 1920s. In 1979 this house was chosen to be the prison museum. It is currently (1996) being restored by the BMA for future use. This place received a Fremantle Award.
