Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.
Single storey timber framed and weatherboard clad walls and a zincalume hipped and half timbered gable roof house. The dropped veranda is supported by timber posts.
A cottage is recorded on lot 1417 in 1905/6. The owner was H.M. Government. The occupant was Gustave Possett, a Driver. (Fremantle Rate Book records).
