This tank is significant in maintaining steam engines that ran in this period of time with employment within the railway.
Situated between the grain bins at Warralakin. It is an extreme local feature of the town. it is a square iron tank. Its supporting members are round timber poles.
The tank was established in the 1930's. The railway line from Mukinbudin was extended to Bullfinch in 1929. The trains were steam locomotive that required water. This structure is important historically as part of the water supply for locomotive on the original railway line from Mukinbudin to Bullfinch/Southern Cross. The water supply was piped from Geelakin Rock.
