The place demonstrates a way of life no longer practiced.
The Drive-in Theatre was provided by the Hotel syndicate who purchased the screen and most of the equipment from Beverley and transported it to Hyden. By 1975 the Hyden Drive-in was operating. It continued to operate until 1986 when the improvement of television reception in the region partly resulted in the demise of the drive-in.
