Administration Building is part of a group of buildings which were established in the 1930s as a resort complex on the shores of Lake McNess. Administration Building is surrounded by large trees with attractive gardens at the front. The building is a single storey curator's lodge and office, built in the inter-war California Bungalow style. The external features and internal details of Administration Building, with its garden, as a component of Yanchep National Park resort, is representative of a 1930s resort complex in a park setting. The building is part of a group of similar resort buildings in Yanchep National Park (Yanchep Inn and lodges) with characteristics of the inter-war California Bungalow style expressed in the rustic materials and leadlight glazing. Administration Building has a prominent gable roof with Tudor strap work. The roof of the entrance porch is supported by heavy, natural limestone columns. The front porch/verandah with steps leading up to it, is partly enclosed by rough stone walls. The roof is covered with tiles. Although the entire building now serves as offices, the residential section has been little altered. The building is surrounded by large trees with attractive gardens at the front.
