Statement of Significance

The building is significant on the following grounds: 1. Built 1906 when Narrogin was developing as a major rail centre. 2. Intensively used by travelling public from the entire region. 3. Heavy traffic in small goods carried by rail for many years including perishable products. 4. The "Refresh" was very famous both for train passengers and local people. 5. During World War I many troop trains met by volunteers with refreshments. 6. Many visiting dignitaries welcomed and farewelled on the platforms. 7. Departure point for railway picnics.
