The Fmr Police Station and Quarters has considerable historic and social significance for its association with law and order in the community. The place has further significance as a substantial building on the main street of Mount Magnet, as well as having high streetscape value.
Situated on a prominent corner this large building has a dutch gable corrugated iron roof which is painted green. The surrounding verandah has been enclosed with lattice and corrugated iron sheeting. The place is built to the building line.
The first Police Station in Mount Magnet was built in 1902, while new buildings were constructed in 1971 and 1979. [Drawn to Mt Magnet, p225]
