Statement of Significance

The park was developed to commemorate 50 years of Local Government in the Morawa District. The current Shire was previously part of the Perenjori - Morawa Road Board until 1928.

Physical Description

This small park opposite the Council Offices has edge planting and a central stone monument behind. The stonework, in the form of a wall, is approximately 1.5 metres in height, and raised at the centre, with the words "Jubilee Park", curved above. Below are two plaques as follows: 1. Bronze, with the inscription 1928-1978 This plaque was unveiled by The Honourable E.C. Rushton, M.L.A., Minister for Local Government to commemorate Fifty Years of Local Government in Morawa 2. Bronze, with the names of all Morawa Road and Shire Council members and their years of office.
