Single storey tuck pointed brick in a Flemish bond and a Zincalume hipped roof house. The roof has two brick chimneys with corbelling and extends over the verandah which is supported by turned timber posts. The front entrance has stained leadlight glass fanlight and sidelights and the pairs of timber double hung sash windows have a semi-circular fanlight above them.
Rate Books show that Fremantle Lot 1006 is recorded as vacant up to 1908. By 1909/10 a cottage and shed are recorded. The owner and occupier was Thomas Franks. The 1914 Sewerage Plan (No 2033) shows an incomplete plan for No. 25, with a verandah on the front, west and rear of the house and some outbuildings. The house was originally number 38, and became number 25 when the whole street was renumbered in 1937. From 1920, the main occupant was Cecil S. J. Marsden, who lived there until at least 1949 (when post office directory records cease).
