Statement of Significance

The site represents associations with sporting organisations and induvidals and the development of sporting facilities in Miling.

History

In 1934, the Moora Roads Board acquired 12 acres of land from R Parkes. The miling district Recreation Ground was established for football, cricket and later in 1935, golf. In 1937 the tennis courts were established and opened on 12th Decemebr. The existing sports ground was established by a land exchange with H Seymour on the northern end of the townsite, for the majority of the recreaton reserve. The new site was first used for football in 1952.
