Statewide Lge Timber Str Survey | Completed | 11 Dec 1998 |
The place has aesthetic value as a rustic timber bridge located in a rural and river setting.
The place has associations with local farming farmers the Nobly family.
The place provided the main access across this part of the Arthur River from 1907 to 1989.
The place is the oldest bridge in the Shire.
A length of 42 metres, the bridge is of timber construction with sawn timber stringers and timber piles. The decking is also of timber construction.
The place was constructed in 1907 to provide road access over Arthur River. The bridge takes its name from Bert Noble, who had a farm on the western boundary of the Road Board area in the early 1900s. In 1989, a new concrete bridge was constructed to provide improved road access over the Arthur River. Noble’s Crossing still appears to remain in use as a secondary road access point.
