26714 Egerton Street Heritage Area
Shop (former residence) 13 Egerton Street, evidences the distinctive Federation gable parapet of the original residence, that makes a contribution to the Egerton Street streetscape, and the historic streetscape and townscape of the Narrogin Town Centre.
The single storey building has an extensive shop frontage with central double door entry, all of which is an addition along the front of the former residence. The residence can be ascertained from the dominant decorative gable frontage and the hipped roof of what would have been the residence with a front veranda. The gable is painted face random stone with stucco moulded edging and a distinctive apex detail.
The residence was Mr Palmer’s who had a shop on Federal Street that he accessed from his back door. The Palmer family grew up in the home.
