In 1916 the Phillips River Road Board was burnt to the ground and all records of burials with it. In recent years die Ravensthorpe Historical Society has identified 64 names of the interred and a plaque inside the entrance displays the names. It was not the practice in those days to bury suicide cases in die cemetery so to the left of the main entrance there are six unnamed graves of those who took their own lives. Because of the stony nature of the ground it was decided to abandon the site in 1919 and a new site was consecrated along Esperance Road.
ITiere are over 90 graves but only a few have headstones. The site has been restored, cleared of regrouls. Because most graves are unidentifiable, a line of white crosses was erected between the lew remianing headstones. A caim, standing at the entrance of the cemetery supports a plaque bearing the names and dates of death of the majority of persons buried at this site. An alley of trees (Eucalyptus Megacomuta) was planted. This restoration work was funded by the Heritage Council of WA.
Integrity: Very little remaining headstones due to fire
