Statement of Significance

Thew Temple David is a good example of Late 20th Century Ecclesiastical acrhitecture. The temple demostrates the impact that the Progressive Jewish community had on the Western Australian community , particularly after WW11 when the influx of Central and Eastern Europeans greatly increased the Jewish population in this state. Temple David is associated with the prominent architect Harold Boas a founding member of the congregation and designer of the synagogue. The temple is highly valued by the progressive jewish community. The construction of the temple has been made possible through donations and bequests from the Progressive Jewish communty as well as through repatriated funds from WW11.
