The place represents the presence of the church in Dangin and the dominant role it played in the lives of the Parker family and subsequently the town of Dangin. The associations with the Parker family are significant.
Red brick building with concrete reveals to the gothic windows on the gable front. The protruding gabled entry has a gothic glazed panel above the double entry doors.
Since the 1860s when the Parker family settled, services had been held in their home. The Parker's devout following of their religion meant that the town of Dangin became a Temperance town, with a restriction on alcohol within a five mile radius. With the development of the town, Parker donated the land for the church, and many other community purposes. The first Minister was Rev. William Watson for the first church in 1911. When Jonah Smith Wells died in 1914, a memorial service was held on this site in the original church. In 1927, the church and manse were built replacing the 1911 structures. The President of the Methodist Ladies Guild, Mrs E Johnston, laid the church foundation stone. In 1959 G & A Catt bought the church, and that family, Mrs A Johnston (Nee Catt) owned it for many years after. The pulpit, chair and lectern were sent to Wesley Church in Perth when the church closed, and Pam (nee) Johnston acquired one of the two pews, while Mr & Mrs Martindale have the alter-rails. During the 1980s the church was used for dancing lessons and evenings of dance.
