This building illustrates the way of life of early prospectors in remote areas and is representative of their innovative designs and bush carpentry construction skills. This building has been well preserved to date due to its remote location and has rarity value as most such structures have been destroyed. Current mining opperations may threaten the preservation of the structure.
A good example of an early prospector's house built from the limited resources available, predominantly corrugated iron and bush timbers and exhibiting innovative environmental design features.
A surviving camp on the Bellbird lease.
