10903 Barrack Street Precinct
The place has historical value as a commercial building constructed in Perth c. 1895 during the period of expansion and development that followed the gold rush of the 1890s. The place has aesthetic significance for its contribution to the Barrack Street streetscape.
Two storey commercial building with shops at street level. The ground floor shopfronts are not original. Original fabric is still retained at first floor level with infill glazing panels not original. The parapet and pediment are also original fabric. The awning is lined with pressed metal sheeting.
Building was originally the location of Webb and Webb Photographer on the first floor and Cecil Brothers shoes at street level. The building is a typical example of a building of the 1920s, when Barrack Street was a famous area for its restaurants and jazz music clubs.
High integrity. Medium authenticity.
