Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area. Has undergone significant alterations but original form remains intact.
Originally single storey timber framed weatherboard clad house has two storey timber framed additions at the rear. There is a front room projecting and a bullnosed verandah supported on timber posts. The hipped and gabled roof is clad in zincalume and has a brick chimney with corbelling.
Agnes St was gazetted in 1906. According to Fremantle Rate Book records this was a vacant lot in 1904/5. By 1918/19 a cottage was on this lot, owned by Agnes Weir.
