The site is significant as the cemetery of the early settlers, of whom many were on the committee, and the burial site of one early settler's child's grave. The later burial site of another family member is significant in the history of the cemetery and Doodenanning. The continuing tradition of the cemetery committee is significant in the tradition of the Doodenanning community.
Fenced area of natural bush. A headstone marks the sites of the two graves.
The first burial in the cemetery was that of the infant son of the Fowler family. Vivian Fowler lived only 2 hours. The original cemetery Committee consisted of pioneers of the Doodenanning district; JJ Geyer, W Murphy, J Smith, W Gault, J Bassulla and G Mann. In 1986 a new committee was formed, and the grounds fenced and cleaned up with the headstone being placed on Vivian's grave by the Fowler family. On 7 August 1986, Vivian's brother Geoff Fowler was buried in the cemetery. The Fowler's were early settlers in the district, with F Fowler being the first Treasurer of the Doodenanning Progress Association formed in 1910. The Progress Association was instrumental in acquiring land for the reserve and cemetery.
