The place represents the community's value of education. It has associations with early settlers and educators. The architecture is a representative example of its type of which very few examples remain in the wheatbelt.
Weatherboard and iron construction with verandahs to the front and side with the side verandah infilled with fibro clad structure.
The place was provided as a place for the school teacher to live to ensure that a school teacher would stay in Bilbarin to teach the children Education was valued very highly by the early settlers. It is one of only two buildings remaining in the Bilbarin townsite.
