The Walgoolan Hall has significance in being a social and recreation facility that prevented isolation within the community.
The Walgoolan Hall is sitauted at Lot 36 within a cyclone fence around the perimeter. The hall doesn't have the same attention as it did 20-30 years ago, since the population has diminshed within the town and surrounding areas. It is a cement brick structure with a pitched roof and has an extension on the side at a later date. The hall inside is made of plasterboard walls and wooden floors and a stage that is set back into the wall. Surrounding the stage is the kitchen which has two wooden stoves still in situ. The kitchen area is unlined and made of corrugated iron at the rear of the building. The extension which was the supper room with a gas stove and running water. There are two large sliding doors from the lesser hall into the large hall and double doors at the front.
The first hall established in the Walgoolan townsite was in 1927 and it was built with the help of the CWA. The supper room to the hall was built in 1961 by the CWA Ladies. The old part of the hall used to have a baby clinic run for the young mothers. The hall was used for CWA, church services, cinema, school, bamington. It was also used for playgroup in the latter years. It is the only brick hall within the Shire.
