The building forms part of the remnant stock which make up the historic town's fabric.
A two-storey timber and tile house, reputed to have been built originally in South Perth and brought to Guildford c.1940.
Reputed to have been built for Miss Dorry Pearcy - a music teacher 1930s-40s. Mr Linley Pearcy, her brother, funded the home. He had a dental practise next door to Tindales Chemist at 217 James Street, Guildford (1927). Miss Dorry Pearcy lived here after moving to 19 Olive Street.
