History

In 1974 the tree was given to the Brookton Country Women's Association as a State Golden Jubilee gift from the Avon Divisional President Mrs Harvey. Brookton branch planted the tree in memory of Mrs Hilda Evans (inaugural President of the Avon Division). The tree was planted by Mrs Joyce Evans with assistance from Mrs Jean Messenger.
