• This place has aesthetic value as a good and largely intact example of the Federation Bungalow style executed in corrugated sheet metal. • The place has historic value for its association with the early settlement of the Greenmount region for farming activities.
From the views obtained, this residence is a simple square and symmetrical plan form. It is constructed of timber frame with corrugated metal sheeting cladding. The roof is half gabled, clad with corrugated metal sheeting and a brick chimney. A verandah has been created across the façade and one side by the extension of the roof line. The verandah roof is supported on simple timber posts and the verandah floor is timber boards. The main entrance is a centrally located and features glass panels, fan lights and side lights, full height sash windows are located either side. Many mature trees are located within the lot obscuring the view of the building.
From the readily available information this place was built in the 1900s as a homestead for a farming property. Further research may identify the original owners and occupants. In the first half of the 20th century, Greenmount was predominantly used for farming, Subdivision of this land parcel was formally approved in 1971 and since that time the place has had minimal additions or alterations. The form and extent of the original residence can still be determined.
