The building is significant on the following grounds: 1. Erected 1905 for the Narrogin Road Board (created very early in 1892); built by Joseph Wild. 2. Major development of building from 1961 when Road Board became Shire. 3. Building in which many major decisions have been made affecting progress of the Shire.
