Statement of Significance

This building has a place in the history of Esperance in that it played a vital part in providing shelter for rail passengers. The structure. although basic. has an appeal and charm. It is well suited to its site, next to the Station Master's Office. It provided a community facility and travellers in transit had some basic comfort. The railway was significant when it finally linked the goldfields to Esperance. for trade and for holiday makers.
