One of Mandurah’s landmarks, for both locals and tourists. The naming of the tree indicates a local importance beyond its tall standing in the record books.
This cotton palm is located in the waterfront gardens of Tuckey’s House. The tree is over 70 years old and was probably planted at around the same time as the residence was built in 1928. It reaches a height of over 40 metres and was once - and may still be - the tallest palm of its type in the southern hemisphere.
