Physical Description

Ÿ Tall, long rounded Romanesque windows. Ÿ Made from red brick. Ÿ High pitched roof, in many different segments, with a tower. Ÿ Decorative bargeboard

History

In 1935 the architects (Parry and Clifton) drew up the plans for St Patrick’s Church under the direction of Mr Edwin Allwood to commence as soon as possible. The foundation stone was laid by Archbishop Henry Le Fanu on the 22nd March 1936 on he nearest day to St Patrick’s day. In the recess under the stone some coins of the realm and copies of the West Australian newspaper and the Church New were deposited.
