A two storey building with a partly enclosed verandah to the street. The upper storey was added in 1911 when it was enlarged for its new role as a licensed hotel. The hotel provided accommodation for the camel teamsters. The builder was R. Newman.

History

The Sandhurst Hotel was built in 1905 by Mr. R. Newman and was originally used as a boarding house. It was then used as the Yankee Town (East Carnarvon) Store before becoming a Hostel and Pub. When the Sandhurst Hotel was a boarding house, it was run by Miss Massingham before her nephew Arthur Wooley took over. The Sandhurst Hotel was then used by the camel teamsters as the location was in close proximity to where the camels grazed. Arthur Wooley added the top storey and named it the Sandhurst Hotel. The building was licensed in May 1911. The building is currently vacant and it has been assessed as being structurally unstable.
