the place was built in 1935-36, when Western Australia was recovering from the Great Depression and illustrates the growth and development of the suburb of Inglewood at this time.
the place is a modest example of a house constructed in the 1930s in the Inter-war Californian Bungalow style.
the place represents the practice of the State Housing Commission of acquiring private residences for the provision of State housing in the 1970s.
Single detached dwelling sits on 425sqm residential lot. There are 3 bedrooms (right front, middle and rear), a kitchen and combined dining room, a lounge room. There is a separate structure with a laundry, water closet and a shower. There is a poured concrete shed area at the rear and a veranda on the left hand side of the front of the dwelling. There are picture rails in the front right and middle bedrooms, passageway and lounge room. There are ornate ceiling roses in the loungeroom. There are circular feature windows in the entry way, to the front veranda.
The property was constructed and used as a private residence until ~ 1970. The propoerty was acquired by the State Housing Commission in the 1970's and was used for social housing until 2019.
