The District Court Houseis important as the first District Court House to be constructed in Western Australia, after the major reorganisation of Western Australia's court system in the late 1960s. It is also important as one of the few regionally located Late Twentieth Century Stripped Classical style buildings in WA.
Kalgoorlie District Court House, a two storey concrete block, glass, aluminium and steel Late Twentieth Century Stripped Classical style building designed and constructed by the Public Works Department in 1973.
Kalgoorlie District Court House was constructed in 1973 to the design of Tadeusz Andrzejaczek of the Public Works Department. The Court House was built after the introduction of the introduction of District Courts system in 1969, which acted as an intermediate court between the Local (magistrate) and Supreme Courts.
