The place has aesthetic value as it is a prominent feature of the landscape.
The place represents a good example of an Art Deco architecture.
‘The Art Deco style two storey office has a single storey section to the rear. The walls to the sides are random rubble stone and to the front the building has been rendered. The front façade features a tall parapet wall with curved decoration to each side. Vertical decorative banding emphasises the height of the building. The central entry door is recessed and has a box awning above. Windows are timber framed and double hung.’
‘The Commonwealth bank commenced operations in Geraldton in 1929.’ Probably in the local post office before the construction of its own premises. It is claimed that the Commonwealth bank building was built following the Depression of the 1930s but prior to the commencement of World War II.’ Mr Stan Gratte believes that the building was completed in 1938.’
