The former Police Station has some historic significance for its association with law and order in the district. The building continues to fulfill an important community service today. The building has some aesthetic appeal given its simple style which is enhanced by features such as french doors and the corbelled chimney.
The former Police Station is a timber framed building clad with sheets of fibrous cement. The place has a gambrel corrugated iron roof which extends to cover the front verandah vtfiich is supported on timber posts. The verandah is partly enclosed to the south with fibro and louvre windows. There is a lean-to roof to the rear while the main roof is punctuated by a corbelled brick chimney. The front facade features french doors opening onto the verandah. The buiding has timber framed double hung windows with eight panes. To the rear is a separate shed of fibrous cement construction.
The original Police Station was built in 1926 and opened on 8 January 1927. The new Police Station was built in 1985. The building now operates as the Perenjori District Arts and Crafts. (Sources: Cannon, E.S., "Golden Opportunities", p.143 & 'The West Australian", 27/4/1985 )
