The golf course site represents significant associations with the early settlers and a way of life no longer practiced.
The 18 hole golf course on the banks of Lake Yealering was the site of a number of other sporting, recreational and other pursuits prior to the Golf Club being established in 1927. The Number One "Rec" fairway is the site of the Sports and Recreation Ground where the early settlers met for their picnic days. The Number Two "Rifle" fairway was the Rifle Range. Approved by the Wickepin Road Board in 1915, the rifle range was a popular venue. Number fifteen "Bricky" fairway is the site of the brick dump.
