Three Rivers Station Shearing Shed typifies the sheds of the 1920s and is representative of the pastoral development of the period.
Three Rivers station is named for the North, Middle and South tributaries of the Gascoyne River. The shearing shed is believed to have been built in the 1920s possibly by Alf Dolby of Meekatharra. It is of timber and iron construction and has the curved roof seen in many Murchison sheds. The yards and ramps are of bush timber. The shed can house 500 sheep under cover. Up to 33,000 sheep were shorn in the early years prior to the droughts of the 1930s. John Bowman was manager of Three Rivers for thirty-two years.
