Statement of Significance

The place represents a phase of the school system in the Narembeen town and a way of life no longer practiced. The place is a surviving example of a school room of its period and makes a considerable contribution to the school precinct, and the character of the town of Narembeen.

Physical Description

The brick and timber framed school room has a timber framed and fibro clad verandah at the rear which extends under the main roof. The terracotta tile roof is a hipped with the skillion verandah extension.

History

This school room was the second purpose built school facility in the town of Narembeen, but the oldest to remain in its original location. The school later focussed north of this building, fronting onto Ada St, where the police facility was originally located.
