The place is significant as a war memorial to members of the International Order of Good Templars. The place is representative of war memorial which uses an obelisk in its design. The place is important for its association with the International Order of Good Templars.
A memorial to fallen servicemen of World War I, erected by the Good Templars, is in the lower lawn, at the edge of the north-eastern row of Moreton Bay Fig Trees. The memorial is of sandstone on a granite plinth with engraved marble tablets.
War Memorial erected by the Western Australian Members of the International Order of Good Templars and unveiled by the Governor on 12 March 1922.
