The place is a demonstration of an adaptation of English design built to suit local climate, materials and building methods.
The building is intimate in scale and has tall lancet windows and a steep-pitched roof. The nave is oriented east-west and has an entry porch which breaks the simplicity of the building. Covered with a gabled roof, the porch features a lancet doorway with timber panelling and a timber gable fmial. The main roof lacks ornamentation other than a lancet-shaped louvred vent high in the gable wall, and battened eaves. The nave consists of six lancets, three on either side, containing double-hung sashes with textured and coloured panes. The lancets are defined by prominent timber frames and sills. The interior of the church has timber floors throughout. Other interior finishes and features were not able to be recorded as access to the interior was restricted. A rear window (west elevation) has been covered with sheet metal The rear door has been replaced although not in keeping with the style of the building. A separate and small toilet block, on the north side of the property, is an addition. The church building is in fair condition, the gutters need replacing and some timbers required repair. Steel flying shores are stabilising the south and west walls of the building.
In December 1899, lot 150 Leonora was reserved for a Presbyterian Church. The Church of Saint Augustine was licensed for Public Worship in November 1903. It is assumed that the Christian Fellowship Church and the Church of Saint Augustine are the same church but local knowledge and a title search would probably confirm this. Date of construction is between 1 p 00 sjid 1903.
