The museum (Old Court House) is an integral part of the Port Precinct. Its architectural style is complimentary to the earlier buildings found in the precinct. Its current use as the Wyndham Historical Society Museum compliments the historic theme. There is some evidence (oral) that the earlier building on the site was also used as a courthouse so there is a suggestion of historic continuity on the site.
The Old Court house (now the museum) is located in the proposed historical precinct. Built in typical 1950s architectural style, and much later than the majority of the other historic buildings in the precinct, it none-theless fits into the port architectural theme. The building is located on the western side of O'Donnell Street. There is evidence that the foundations and materials from the 1928 building were used to erect the current building.
