Statement of Significance

The place represents a period of settlement and development in Hyden.

Physical Description

Timber framed and fibro clad on a cement floor, with a corrugated iron hipped roof and a gable front feature.

History

In c1933, Mouritz had a brick and iron butcher shop on the site. He killed the stock on the farm, and retailed from here. The existing building was constructed in the 1950s on the site of the former butcher shop.
