The Grand Hotel has high social and historic significance as one of the two remaining hotels in Mount Magnet. The place commands considerable streetscape value considering its scale and street frontage.
Located on the main street, this two storeyed building is of brick construction. The roof is a combination of hips and gables and features a gable end with decorative timber barge boarding in an old English style. A verandah and balcony extends over the pavement. The balcony is supported on stop-chamfered timber posts, paired below the gable. The balcony, which is partly enclosed, is protected by a balustrade sheeted in asbestos. The wall to the lower level street elevation is rendered to sill height. The hotel has tall brick chimneys.
Integrity: Medium Degree Modifications: Some asbestos verandah enclosures.
