Statement of Significance

The site represents a way of life no longer practiced.

History

During the 1920s Wally Sloan's billiard saloon was a popular venue in town. It burnt down during the Depression, and another one was soon established at the site where Elders was, and Kulin Gift Shop is now. The site remained vacant until the 1960s when Harry Proud had the existing building constructed.
