It has been significant as a social place for sporting groups and social gathering from local and the outlying areas. Traditionally the hotel provided accomodation and provisioning trade especially during the boom period giving strong historical associations with the development of Westonia.
Situated in the main street of the town a substantial wooden and corrugated iron building. The exterior has timber panelling with 2 large picture windows at the front of the building with brass raillings. The verandah is a bull nose around two sides of the building facing the main streets. A large passage down the centre of the hotel with dado jarrah walls throughout the building. Large open fire place and extended bar. The ceilings are 10' with jarrah floor boards. The original rooms for accommodation consist of iron interior and exterior walls and ceilings with two doors leading to both verandahs front and back, with a substantial beer garden. Addition of the toilets and kitchen additions do not compliment the original structure of the hotel.
The hotel was first established in 1915. The hotel takes the same name as the Towns founder's sister. It was first owned by a Lesley Steward and the Licensee was Gilmore and Stone. The Hotel was then owned by Percy Lindley from 1938 and remained with the family until Rose Dean became the proprietor.
