Statement of Significance

The Lazy Lobster, former Knight's Flats, have social significance given that they were one of the first purpose built holiday accommodation in the district and have been used by visitors for many years.

Physical Description

The former Knight Holiday flats consists of two buildings. The larger building to the west has a corrugated iron gambrel roof with an additional feature gable to the front. The roof extends to cover surrounding verandahs, which are supported on masonry pillars. The verandahs have a low balustrade of impressed concrete block with timber framed louvres as infill between the concrete block pillars. There are two tall brick chimneys to the west and east sides of the building. The building to the east has a corrugated iron hipped roof with a separate gable to the main front room and an enclosed lean-to to the east. The enclosed section has a masonry balustrade with timber framed windows above. There is a small verandah which is supported on timber posts to the side of the main room, the front window of which is covered by a metal awning. The building is clad in ‘shadowline’ type fibro with timber boards to the gable end. 2004 The place continues to be maintained by the owners.
