01738 Two Railway Houses (fmr) & Trees
The group demonstrates a particular style in building, of substance and permanence compared to the bulk of timber framed corrugated iron clad housing in the town. They are on integral part of this important complex of railway buildings in Coolgardie that were vital to the development and history of the Eastern Goldfields.
One of three houses for railway employees built in Woodward Street in a distinctive style using local stone and a corrugated iron roof. A simple, 3 room, rectangular building with a gabled roof and weatherboard clad additions to the rear. There are 2 large pepper trees at the front of the block.
A part of the railway building complex which was a vital communications and transport link for this isolated town. This building accommodated a higher ranked railway workers family.
