Statement of Significance

Aesthetically significant as a fine example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical single storey stone cottage dating from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.

Physical Description

Single storey house with tuck pointed stone and brick quoining to window and door openings. The hipped roof is clad with zincalume and has two chimneys with corbelling and terracotta chimney pots. There is a bull nosed verandah which is supported by timber posts and decorative brackets.

History

Cottage 132 is recorded on Lot 39 of 37 of 7 in the rate book records of 1904/5.
